Marathon Man (1976)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 126m
Director: John Schlesinger
Cast: Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Olivier, Roy Scheider, William Devane, Marthe Keller

Synopsis:

A CIA agent is on to an organisation seeking to smuggle Nazi diamonds out of the U.S., but it is his kid brother who gets involved and carries the story through to its conclusion.

Review:

Schlesinger took this William Goldman screenplay and, against all likelihood, fashioned an extremely sleek and queasily violent espionage thriller. Famous for stacking widely divergent acting styles up against each other: Olivier's greasepaint portrait of villainy, and Hoffman's breathless and sweaty Method Man.
