Merrill's Marauders (1962)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 98m
Director: Samuel Fuller
Cast: Jeff Chandler, Ty Hardin, Andrew Duggan

Synopsis:

An American fighting force under the command of Brig. Gen. Frank Merrill maintains a constantly shifting front against the Japanese in Burma.

Review:

A hard one to like this: Fuller obviously is no gung-ho director, but finds it difficult to balance sympathy for the complaints of the men, pushed to their limits, with the strategic priorities of their command, which are to kill Japs and gain territory. With the audience unsure of the moral centre of the film, it ends up being a bit of downer.
