Mia madre (2015)

£0.00

Country: IT/FR/GER
Technical: col 106m
Director: Nanni Moretti
Cast: Margherita Buy, John Turturro, Giulia Lazzarini, Nanni Moretti

Synopsis:

A woman film director struggles with her mother's encroaching illness and her work on a film about workers' rights.

Review:

Gentle, observant character study, with an angle that is becoming increasingly relevant in western societies. The lurches of tone are typical of the director, and do not always come off, but his idiosyncrasies are generally engaging and he at least delivers an understated performance as the brother.
