Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)

£0.00

Country: US/HK/CHI
Technical: col/2.35:1 131m
Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Cast: Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Sean Harris, Alec Baldwin

Synopsis:

Ethan Hunt and what remains of IMF struggle to neutralize a multi-national network of former agents before it becomes fully operational, but they are themselves disbanded and hunted down by their own CIA.

Review:

This series continues to promote impossible conundrums for its hero to overcome, and increasingly death-defying stunts allegedly performed by the star. But it is its refusal to neglect the human element that, unlike the Bond franchise, allows it to plumb the depths of films like The Bourne Legacy, which it very much resembles. The sequence at the Vienna Opera is in fact far more satisfying than the high-speed chases; now just think what Brian De Palma would have made of that.
