Moses (1975)

£0.00

(Moses the Lawgiver)

Country: IT/GB
Technical: col/1.33 140m/300m
Director: Gianfranco De Bosio
Cast: Burt Lancaster, Anthony Quayle, Irene Papas, Ingrid Thulin

Synopsis:

The story of Moses, shot in standard format for TV, and edited down for theatrical release.

Review:

Lancaster excels as Moses, having just the right measure of gravitas and inner turmoil, but there is much to sit through, and it cannot have the spectacle of De Mille or Scott's versions. For this reason the most poignant passages are the later ones, usually neglected by filmmakers, as he approaches the promised land.
