The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col/scope 138m
Director: Nicolas Roeg
Cast: David Bowie, Candy Clark, Rip Torn, Buck Henry

Synopsis:

An alien comes to Earth and contacts a college professor on the way to amassing an immense fortune. But he succumbs to alcoholism and is used as a guinea pig by the men he trusted.

Review:

Once again Roeg's avoidance of the fade to impose a time structure results in some disorienting transitions. The film is over-stretched but is worth a look, for all its uglier aspects. It deals in adult fashion with much the same material as E T - The Extra-Terrestrial.
