The Man from Laramie (1955)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 104m
Director: Anthony Mann
Cast: James Stewart, Arthur Kennedy, Donald Crisp, Cathy O'Donnell

Synopsis:

A stranger arrives at a town in Apache country, and tangles with the Waggomans, a rancher clan that uses strongarm tactics to maintain its supremacy.

Review:

Mann's last of five westerns with Stewart, and the sole in anamorphic processing, is his bitterest yet, with its infamous maiming scene and a plot involving the running of arms to the Apache, which seems a throwback to conventional racial politics. Once again it is the homely girl who wins him back round from the path of hate.
