The Mist (2007)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 126m
Director: Frank Darabont
Cast: Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden, Marcia Gay Harden, Toby Jones, Frances Sternhagen

Synopsis:

An Oregon community is shrouded in a thick mist and gruesome things start to happen. A supermarket load of shoppers comes to terms with the situation.

Review:

Three unities-style apocalyptic horror from the prolific hand of Stephen King, and better than most. The essential point, namely how long it takes for society - and civilised behaviour - to break down, is well made; the religious fundamentalism of one character's demagoguery would be harder to take, were this not America. Few Hollywood products since Planet of the Apes have had the courage to end as bleakly as this. It was remade as a TV series ten years later.
