Noah's Ark (1928)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 135m
Director: Michael Curtiz
Cast: Dolores Costello, Noah Beery, Louise Fazenda, George O'Brien

Synopsis:

The biblical story of the Flood is set against a tale of the Great War, with two Americans and a German girl caught up in the conflict.

Review:

The kind of preposterous film they were making in the twenties, as the silent form could get away with any number of refinements. However, with Warners wanting to add sequences of dialogue to exploit their new toy, the finished article is as stilted as you might expect. No matter, it is nothing if not entertaining, and a fine example of Curtiz's storytelling skill leading up to a spectacular finale.
