This free-wheeling, accident prone, old-fashioned buddy movie successfully captures the look and feel of the 70s (e.g. the hit man is called John Boy). It trades a lot on the crumpled charm of its leads (Rice steals the show as the fourteen year-old daughter) and trips along breezily, scoring a fair few laughs with its scattergun approach. Like Boogie Nights crossed with The Big Lebowski.
