Outrage (2010)

£0.00

Country: JAP
Technical: col/2.35:1 109m
Director: Takeshi Kitano
Cast: Beat Takeshi, Kippei Shîna, Ryô Kase, Fumiyo Kohinata

Synopsis:

The Chairman of the yakuza clans is offended that one of the families has made a pact with a drug lord, and sets in chain a complex series of manipulations so that the two destroy one another.

Review:

Inscrutable gangster saga in the detached Kitano style, confusingly peopled with large numbers of expendable characters who look alike and dress alike. The absence of formal flourishes is by now familiar, the detail gloatingly repellent. Having thus made a return to the genre that brought him success, the actor-writer-director survived dying in this one to appear in two sequels. Strictly for cynics with hardened stomachs.
