Synopsis:
A psychiatrist's concern that her patient has been missing sessions turns to consternation when she appears to have committed suicide. Prompted by hypnosis, she comes to suspect foul play and gradually sinks into an obsession.
Review:
The sort of comedy-drama-intrigue the French do so well - one might easily imagine Ozon directing something similar, or Virginie Efira playing the lead (as opposed to a dead body!). This stays on the light side of things, and Foster is excellent with her brittle, febrile almost scrupulously professional shrink creation, drawing on her trademark twitchiness to telling effect. But it is Auteuil who provides most of the fun, even if he does set the seal on any pretence at seriousness: as a satire on head shrinks, there has been far more vicious fare.
