Synopsis:
A young ingenue signs on at a bordello to help her boyfriend with a down payment, but is deceived. Thus begins her career as a high-class prostitute, in which she travels from one fashionable city to another to be pimped and exploited by a succession of men. Until, that is, she finds her sugar daddy.
Review:
The director's trademark pageant of bottoms is almost a Sadean fantasy set in that indeterminate never-never land of 1930s decadence, except that our heroine invariably comes out smelling of roses, Moll Flanders-like. The film is a succession of erotic sketches, pretty frank for its time, in which Brass taunts the prudish Italian censors (much as the Houses of Tolerance do the municipal and church authorities in the story) with scenes of sodomy, urolagnia, masturbation and abortion, retaining all the while a comic book lack of realism to escape censorship as hardcore pornography. Impossible to take seriously as drama, it is equally offensive enough in its attitudes to women to be inadmissible as comedy.
