The Prince and the Showgirl (1957)

£0.00

Country: GB/US
Technical: col 117m
Director: Laurence Olivier
Cast: Laurence Olivier, Marilyn Monroe, Sybil Thorndike

Synopsis:

A foreign prince regent visiting Britain becomes infatuated with an American showgirl, and the whole situation becomes politically sensitive.

Review:

A legendary clash of acting styles, but the chemistry does come off on screen, however trying the production process was. There is something about Olivier's stiff professionalism that allows Monroe's vulnerability to shine, and there is intelligence between them, it would seem.
