Rescued by Rover (1905)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: bw 382ft
Director: Lewin Fitzhamon, Cecil Hepworth
Cast:

Synopsis:

A crone steals a baby from the charge of a negligent nurse, and the master and his dog together effect a rescue.

Review:

An important advance in filmed narrative, consisting of a series of shots in different locations joined by simple cuts, but not all having an action-based connection between them; for example we cut from the crone's garret back to the house of the well-to-do couple. Shots involving movement of dog and master from distance to foreground are pedantic by modern standards.
