Remake of an 80s potboiler that acquired some modest cult status at the time. This one boasts a less parodic lead and strikes a lighter tone from the off. The star's engaging smile, however, can only do so much and patience soon wears thin as antagonists resemble AI dummies. It all culminates in an absurd boat chase involving a frequently airborne Mr Gyllenhaal.
