Robin and Marian (1976)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 107m
Director: Richard Lester
Cast: Sean Connery, Audrey Hepburn, Robert Shaw, Nicol Williamson

Synopsis:

Robin and Little John return from years of campaigning with Richard and renew acquaintance with the Sheriff and Maid Marian, who has taken holy vows.

Review:

An attempt to revise this material in much the same way as the Musketeer stories: realistic detail and superb locations are married to sixties irreverent humour (at times the result is uncomfortably close to Monty Python). It sort of works but the romantic Tristram/Yseult stuff over-eggs the pudding somewhat.
