The Russians are Coming the Russians are Coming (1966)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 126m
Director: Norman Jewison
Cast: Carl Reiner, Eva Marie Saint, Alan Arkin

Synopsis:

A Soviet sub runs aground off the New England coast; a complete accident, but it sends the locals into a frenzy.

Review:

As someone quipped at the time, saying it twice only made it seem more desperate. Nevertheless, this Cold War comedy bears up pretty well compared with the similar 1941, and it at least gave us Alan Arkin. Like the Spielberg, though, it doesn't know when enough is enough.
