Saps at Sea (1940)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 60m
Director: Gordon Douglas
Cast: Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, James Finlayson, Dick Cramer, Ben Turpin

Synopsis:

Ollie is prescribed rest and sea air by his doctor but they find themselves sharing their rented boat with an escaped killer. Luckily the effect on Ollie of Stan's trombone playing can be turned to their advantage.

Review:

Pretty tired star comedy which resolves itself into two over-stretched two-reelers, one in a hotel which they trash, the other on the boat where they must prepare a meal for their unwelcome guest. The elaborate mayhem seems contrived rather than inspired, and the invention is wearing thin.
