Shivers (1975)

£0.00

(The Parasite Murders)

Country: CAN
Technical: col 87m
Director: David Cronenberg
Cast: Paul Hampton, Joe Silver, Barbara Steele

Synopsis:

Inhabitants of a block of flats are overcome by a parasite which escapes from a mad doctor's experiments and turns those it bites into sexually aggressive and infectious killers.

Review:

One of the first of the director's films to deal with concerns to which he often returned: psychological trauma given form as physical mutation, and the pathology of sexuality. Given a tolerance for the at times repellent visual conceits to which these preoccupations lead, this is a pacy thriller, effectively confined to its single location.
