£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: bw 86m
Director: Terence Fisher, Antony Darnborough
Cast: Jean Simmons, Dirk Bogarde, David Tomlinson, Honor Blackman, Cathleen Nesbitt, Felix Aylmer

Synopsis:

An English brother and sister arrive in Paris for the 1889 Exhibition, but the next morning he has disappeared from the hotel and everyone denies having seen him.

Review:

Quite a curiosity from the Box stable, this starts in light comedy vein and then turns into a mystery before culminating in the startling suggestion of bubonic plague. Not without interest for the Paris locations, and with an affecting performance by Simmons. Her pairing with Bogarde, intended by Rank as the first of several, ended here when Stewart Granger got in the way.
