Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 95m
Director: Jack Clayton
Cast: Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd, Pam Grier

Synopsis:

A carnival comes to a small American town of unfulfilled people, promising the realization of their dreams. But two young friends discover it is actually collecting their souls.

Review:

Visually immaculate but unmemorable chiller for children. The autumn colours and special effects are attractive enough, but the pervading air of familiarity extends to the plagiaristic Horner score (cf. Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky and Herrmann's Mysterious Island).
