Strangers Kiss (1984)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/bw 94m
Director: Matthew Chapman
Cast: Peter Coyote, Victoria Tennant, Blaine Novak

Synopsis:

A film director in the forties making a cheap boxing melodrama gets funding from a gangster whose moll is the star of the picture. He does all he can to make the lead really fall in love with her and pretty soon life imitates art in other respects.

Review:

The most unlikely of films to be made in the 80s, with the most unlikely of leading men for a film that is supposed to be set in the 40s (Novak, also the story writer). It does not come off, mainly because the romantic centre has no fire and the whole enterprise seems fairly pointless.
