Sweet Dreams (1985)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 115m
Director: Karel Reisz
Cast: Jessica Lange, Ed Harris

Synopsis:

Fictionalised biopic of Country singer Patsy Cline, and her turbulent relationship with her husband.

Review:

The director's last film is a disappointing affair, an attempt by its producer to reproduce the success of Coal Miner's Daughter, but this time the dreams are less catching and the life just not interesting enough. Result: of all the Country and Western movies this is the dullest, as an undoubtedly fine Lange and execrable Harris slag it out for nigh on two hours, and the movie leans on its Cline-voiced songs for support.
