Test Pilot (1938)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 119m
Director: Victor Fleming
Cast: Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy, Lionel Barrymore

Synopsis:

A fast-living test pilot makes an emergency landing on a farm in Kansas and marries the daughter. But his mechanic doubts whether his pal's temperament and chosen living are cut out for wedlock.

Review:

Well-packaged MGM A-picture with good work from the leads and a strong thread driving it. Watch for the detail of Tracy leaving his gum on Gable's fuselage before each flight, save for the last trip when he goes with him and simply throws it on the ground behind him: neither music nor a cutaway close-up underline the ominous significance.
