That Hamilton Woman (1941)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 128m
Director: Alexander Korda
Cast: Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh, Gladys Cooper

Synopsis:

Nelson's romance with Emma Hamilton causes much disapproval but provides him with the inner strength to go on beating the French.

Review:

Most significant now for being the film they made together which epitomised the glamour of the Olivier/Leigh relationship. There is a magic here in the coupling which never told before, and knowledge of their own ill-fated romance now lends it an added poignancy. Otherwise the film's propaganda value was clear, and the naval battle is a marked improvement on that of Fire Over England.
