The Thief of Bagdad (1924)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 155m
Director: Raoul Walsh
Cast: Douglas Fairbanks, Snitz Edwards, Charles Belcher, Julanne Johnston, Anna May Wong

Synopsis:

A thief sets off in search of the rare treasure that will win the hand of the Caliph's daughter, unaware that the Prince of the Mongols is cheating in the same enterprise.

Review:

Fairbanks mounted this spectacular production under his own banner, with grandiose sets and cutting edge visual effects for the flying carpet sequences. It is all rather splendid, but as with many such films of the twenties, pacing is a problem.
