Synopsis:
A girl who has been rendered mute by child abuse is kidnapped and subjected to enforced prostitution and heroine addiction. She plans an intricate and brutal revenge.
Review:
Quite how she manages to escape supervision long enough to do that is the film's main inconsistency, but this will prove academic to all but those with stomachs strong enough for the material. The sex inserts remain far more extreme than the violence, crudely edited and delivered in slow-mo. Nevertheless, the film has rigour, subjecting its audience to the same prolonged assault as its heroine, namely two thirds of its running time, before indulging in super-justified retribution. It found itself in posthumously distinguished company with such nasties as I Spit on Your Grave when the time came, and so birthed a sub-genre: the avenging female, who loses her humanity twice, as victim and as perpetrator.
