Twelve Monkeys (1995)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 129m
Director: Terry Gilliam
Cast: Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe, Brad Pitt, Christopher Plummer

Synopsis:

A convict is sent back from the future to gather data concerning the virus that has all but wiped out humanity.

Review:

The film where we actually wondered if Willis - and Pitt - could act: a bold choice in either case, and one which paid off, with this rich and resonant elaboration of ideas from Chris Marker's La Jetée. At the time, we felt, Gilliam's most coherent film to date; now it seems laboured and does not really sit so well beside Brazil, which remains his masterpiece.
