We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004)

£0.00

Country: US/CAN
Technical: col/scope 99m
Director: John Curran
Cast: Mark Ruffalo, Laura Dern, Peter Krause, Naomi Watts

Synopsis:

College teachers with stay-at-home wives and kids assay adultery with each other's partners. The less serious misadventure turns out to be the one with longterm effects.

Review:

The subject matter of One Night Stand and Your Friends & Neighbors but totally different in tone, this nicely edited drama has a lightness of tone which gradually, and perhaps inevitably, gives way to bitterness and histrionics. The lead characters, taken individually, are far from appealing but somehow one finds a touchstone of truth in all their helpless fumbling around for fulfilment.
