White Dog (1982)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: Metrocolor 90m
Director: Samuel Fuller
Cast: Kristy McNichol, Burl Ives, Paul Winfield

Synopsis:

An actress runs down a white German Shepherd dog, which proves an excellent guard dog but turns out to have been trained to attack and kill blacks.

Review:

A deeply anti-racist film which was misunderstood, largely by people who hadn't seen it (no doubt because of the synopsis and the fact that Fuller, not noted for a dispassionate, low key approach, was involved). The dog footage is remarkable and Winfield's performance and Morricone's score add to the power of this unusual moral thriller.
