Wild Tales (2014)

£0.00

(Relatos salvajes)

Country: ARG/SP/FR/GB
Technical: col/2.35:1 122m
Director: Damián Szifron
Cast: Darío Grandinetti, Julieta Zylberberg, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Ricardo Darín, Oscar Martínez, Erica Rivas

Synopsis:

Six tales revealing the more bestial sides of our better natures, ranging from an incident of road rage to hit and run; revenge in the air and on the ground; from scorned bride to explosives expert with a grudge.

Review:

You might dub these New World-set, Almodóvar-produced stories the Seven Deadly Sins if there were not only six, for each seems to illustrate one of the former, save for the first which functions as an appetizer. Corruption looms large, and there is a gleeful gusto to the ramping up of each mini disaster, but the unremitting pessimism does leave a somewhat queasy feeling.
