Woman of Straw (1964)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 114m
Director: Basil Dearden
Cast: Sean Connery, Gina Lollobrigida, Ralph Richardson

Synopsis:

The son of a tyrannical millionaire plots to gain control of his father's wealth, and embroils the old man's nurse, who is in love with him, in his nefarious schemes.

Review:

A rare villainous part for Connery, classy trimmings and teasingly directed suspense situations are the principal points of interest for this fashionably Hitchcockian thriller. La Lollo doesn't act at all badly, certainly less stiffly than a Tippi Hedren; talking of stiffness, Sir Ralph's most effective moments are as a corpse.
