Wonder Boys (2000)

£0.00

Country: US/GER/GB/JAP
Technical: DeLuxe/Super 35 111m
Director: Curtis Hanson
Cast: Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, Robert Downey Jnr, Katie Holmes, Rip Torn

Synopsis:

The crisis-stricken personal life of a one-hit author teaching at a Pittsburgh university is further complicated when his most gifted student steals a Marilyn Monroe jacket from a closet belonging to the chancellor's husband.

Review:

A freewheeling, witty, erudite entertainment which observes the three unities more or less and whose characters remind one of Elmore Leonard and the Coen brothers. The performances by all concerned are choice but Douglas in particular confirms his reputation as an actor of stature.
